BUILDING BLOCKS OF SCENE WORK

As improvisors we are storytellers. Be it a game, short form or long form each time we walk on stage the audience begins to connects the dots. We start to push and panic to find what is interesting instead of being in the tune with what is already present and learning to nurture that. The Building Blocks of scene work focuses on the key element of scene work, the Platform, and the many ways int which we can discover, inspire and endow this for ourselves and our partners.

BEAUTIFUL SCENE WORK

Learn a totally new approach to the art of scene work through discovering beautiful, emotional, and physical choices. Learn to stop "inventing" humor, and discover it through real human connection. In improv, effort is ugly. Learn to effortlessly mine vulnerability and emotion to discover real human connections.

A SERIOUS PLAY

Let's forget about rules and formats and the what-not-to-dos. In this workshop, I'd like us all to explore what we can do when we take away the things we have learnt and simply respond to each other in an emotional way. Finding the characters and the stories and the "plots" through listening and reacting and being emotionally connected. If we can take away the need for invention, the invention will happen without us trying. Let's get serious about play. And be funny because serious things are. Let's look at staging, and creating interesting stage pictures, and see where that takes us. Let's explore together and learn from each other.

BEING GOOD TO WORK WITH, WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN?

Improvisers the world over are taught to avoid blocking, say "yes and" and to be good to work with. But "being good to work with" can be very hard to identify in the moment. In this workshop, we'll look at what achieving this goal really means, and in the process make you a more playful, freer, more imaginative improviser.

improv & zen

Improv and zen are very similar, according to Keith Johnstone's point of view. In this workshop we will explore the concept of "here and now", trying to be aware of ourself moment by moment. We will try to abandon the concepts of success, failure, good, bad, right, wrong; in order to develop our first impulse without blocks and conncet to each other body, heart and mind and being in a deep connetcion with ourself, other peopole and world.
